Specify the appliance before making the panel
Choose the exact dishwasher and share its panel template with the cabinetmaker before the front is manufactured. A finished stainless model is not necessarily convertible. Hinges, mounting positions and clearance behind the toe kick can differ.
The Miele G 7186 SCVi AutoDos with material number 12496990 is a documented fully integrated example. Its identifier must not be confused with the G 7186 SCVi SFP variant. Similar names can describe a different door finish or installation arrangement.
Include the missing costs
Your project budget should include the decorative panel, handle, approved mounting parts and the work needed to align it with neighboring doors. Ask which components come with the appliance and which are the cabinetmaker’s responsibility.
A flush appearance also depends on the adjacent cabinetry and available depth. Plan how the dishwasher door passes the plinth as it opens. A photograph of a flush kitchen is not an installation drawing, particularly when it shows another model.
Features worth prioritizing
Because a custom panel hides the front, a visible floor indicator or audible end signal can be useful. Consider the drying method as well: automatic door opening changes how the closed kitchen behaves after a cycle. Verify the manufacturer’s requirements for worktop protection and door clearance.
For service, retain the installation template and panel mounting instructions with the appliance documentation. A future replacement may need a different panel or hinge arrangement, even when the nominal width stays the same.
